Marijke Vink (GI Travel) retires

Marijke Vink is leaving after 23 years as director at GI Travel. She is succeeded by Annemieke Stuurman, who has been with the company for 21 years. Vink is the first-ever winner of the MICE Personality of the Year Award and a respected and beloved face within the industry.

Under the leadership of Marijke Vink, GI Travel has grown into a prominent player in the MICE world. For example, the company organizes the ANVR congress every year.According to Vink, it is now “finally” time to retire.

‘After 23 years of working with great pleasure as managing director of two wonderful companies, GI Travel and Holland Destination Management, it is now time to hand over the baton and start enjoying my retirement,’ Vink wrote in an email to relations on Monday.

But I’m not saying goodbye completely, as an ambassador for both companies I will continue to be involved in the future, much to my pleasure, and in that role we’re bound to run into each other.

As of December 1, Annemieke Stuurman is director of GI Travel and Holland Destination Management. She joined GI Travel in 1999 as manager of the Amsterdam office.
‘With her inspiring leadership and commitment, I confidently hand over the baton to Annemieke. In doing so, I wish her the best of luck with this challenging step in her career.

In addition to Annemieke Stuurman, the management team of GI Travel and Holland Destination Management consists of Sylvia van Loon, who was appointed Business Unit Manager of GI Travel Rotterdam and Amsterdam on December 1, and Herbert Pelskamp and Machteld Liebregs, responsible as Business Unit Managers for Holland Destination Management.
