Successful hybrid mice event from the Swiss

Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau recently successfully organized the hybrid event ”Meet Switzerland”, partly live in Amsterdam, but also available online. CEO Switzerland Tourism Martin Nydegger addressed the (mice-)trade, as former country manager of our country, in fluent Dutch and several speakers brought the (virtual) visitors up to date on Swiss novelties.

Two important aspects that were discussed were the concepts of ‘rent a hotel’ and ‘bed & bureau’ Rent a hotel: ‘Rent your own hotel, without other guests staying here. Meet with your own organization or celebrate your wedding with your company. The successful keynote speaker was Katja Staartjes is the first Dutch woman, who has climbed Mount Everest.

Status (October 11, 2020!)

At the moment, Switzerland has put the Benelux at code orange. This means that Dutch people will have to spend ten days in quarantine when they arrive in Switzerland. Conversely, Dutch nationals must spend ten days in quarantine in the Netherlands if they stayed in Geneva, Fribourg or Vaud.

Hopeful news, however, is that Swiss winter destinations are ready to receive Dutch people, as soon as regulations allow. Do wear mouthguards in the closed cable cars (for persons over 12 years old), public transportation and public areas.
