As of today, The Hague is officially home to a new premium hotel concept: voco® The Hague. Mayor Van Zanen this morning opened the doors of the first voco in the Benelux within the global portfolio of IHG Hotels & Resorts. (To learn more, meet the team at voco The Hague at BTMF!)

All rooms in the brand new hotel are inspired by nature and in addition to people, attention is paid to animals: for example, there are permanent residences for birds and bees and insects can spend the night in the so-called insect hotels. Sustainability is a high priority. The mayor, together with General Manager Inge van Weert, therefore officially untied the ribbon of the life-size tree, the centerpiece in the heart of the hotel that symbolizes the ecological promise. The historic and former ABN Amro building dating from 1923 has undergone a complete metamorphosis in recent years. Offices and ATMs have made way for 204 lifestyle rooms and two hospitality concepts: kitchen, bar and lounge Botanica and gastrobar Ultramarijn. voco™ combines the quality and allure of a global brand with the charm of a local, contemporary boutique hotel full of Hague touches, offering all its guests a reliable premium experience. Own Hague identity

General Manager Inge van Weert: “Under our credo ‘come on in’ we have received the first guests in recent weeks. Now that Mayor Van Zanen has also had the honorable task of putting the finishing touches to it, we’re all set in The Hague. Every voco™ has its own identity and our The Hague character stands out. We welcome guests with breastplate made of hops from The Hague, lavender and honey from The Hague, we have added the stork to our three iconic brand mascots the finch, the owl and the flamingo and there are personalized bicycles at the door. Dutch newest collection brand settles in The Hague

In the middle of the heart of The Hague, the new premium hotel concept: voco® The Hague opened at the beginning of July. With its 204 lifestyle rooms spread over seven floors, guests enjoy a contemporary lifestyle hotel full of sustainable and worldly touches. The rooms overlook the bright atrium with its meter-high tree, the carefully landscaped garden of the adjacent Johan de Witthuis or have a view of Noordeinde or Kneuterdijk. With the restoration of the monumental bank building into a contemporary hotel, a conscious decision was made to create an approachable setting for both hotel guests and local shoppers strolling by. Upon entering, one can decide where they will have breakfast, dinner, a drink or work. This can be done next to the restaurant, in the gastrobar, the sunny courtyard garden, the atrium around the tree or the ‘Play Work’ area located next to the entrance on Kneuterdijk. The former bank building has been transformed and owned by UBM Kneuterdijk BV, a subsidiary of UBM Development.
