Pécs is the fifth largest city of Hungary, located on the slopes of the Mecsek mountains country’s southwest, close to its border with Croatia, the famous vine region of Villány. The city offers multiple possibilities with conference hotels and different venues for organizing meetings.
Historical
Pécs is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Pécs. It also features the oldest university in the country and is one of the significant cultural centres. More and more visitors recognize the city for its cultural heritage, including UNESCO, listed amongst the World Heritage sites since 2000 bearing the European Capital of Culture title the European Capital of Culture in 2010. Pécs is a lively, vibrant city and rich in colourful cultural events.
How to get there
The city can be reached from Budapest via the M6 and M60 motorways. Transfer time by car: 2h 15 min. There is also Pécs-Pogány Airport which can accommodate private and charter aircraft.
