TRAVel Media (hereinafter TRAVel Media) develops, manages and operates the following print magazines: TravMagazine, MICE Travel and Business Traveller. In addition, TRAVel Media operates the websites,,,,,,, Also social media accounts (such as via LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc), Youtube channels etc.

All these channels are collectively referred to below as the ‘Activities’. For the website, and requested that you register and create a profile. For that purpose you will be provided with, or required to provide, a password, a user name and/or other information. When subscribing to any of the above print titles, we will ask you for your name and address and an email address for billing purposes. This data is recorded in our system called Filemaker and is secured there in accordance with current required ways. Consider, for example, data that you provide to TRAVel Media when entering into a subscription or information provided during your use of TRAVel Media’s activities and during your participation in contests, sweepstakes and the like. This privacy policy applies to the processing of personal data of users, visitors, customers and subscribers of (mobile) websites and services and products of TRAVel Media through its Activities. This privacy policy sets out what data TRAVel Media collects, how TRAVel Media obtains this data, for what purposes it does this, what your rights are and how you can invoke them.

Personal Data
TRAVel Media treats the information it collects about our users, visitors, clients and subscribers (hereinafter ‘personal data’) with the utmost care. In doing so, TRAVel Media adheres to all applicable laws and regulations, including the AVG. TRAVel Media B.V., Arendstraat 19, 1223 RE, Hilversum, is responsible for processing personal data. TRAVel Media B.V. also has a Processor Agreement with its printing company Senefelder Misset B.V. The Processor Agreement complies with the AVG.

Types of data and purpose of data processing
TRAVel Media can process personal data when offering its services, for example name, contact details, date of birth, gender and e-mail address. It may also be data about interests of the users of one or more of TRAVel Media’s services, for example because you have indicated what your interests are or because TRAVel Media has derived your interests from the way you use the (mobile) websites (including apps), services or products. It is also possible that you have provided TRAVel Media with access to certain data, for example links to social media. These links are only used to facilitate logging into one of our websites but never to send you a personalized offer or other commercial message. Furthermore, financial data, such as your bank account number, is processed if you order products on a website or if you take out a subscription, to the extent necessary for payment.

TRAVel Media’s servers can also automatically record certain data, such as URL, IP address, browser type and language, and the date and time of your visit to the relevant (mobile) website. We do this to be able to monitor reactions on the website and to check whether a reaction is placed by a natural person.

Personal data is collected and processed by TRAVel Media for the following purposes:

The establishment and execution of an agreement concluded with you, for example a subscription;
The administration and communication with regard to (the use of) the TRAVel Media websites;
The posting of user-generated content or otherwise the posting of information and the exchange thereof – including, but not limited to, participation in (discussion) forums and leaving reactions;
Sending digital newsletters, offers, user information, service messages or other electronic messages;
The participation in contests and similar (promotional) win actions;
Making targeted offers, for example via e-mail or by displaying an advertisement on a website or in an app, which TRAVel Media suspects to be of interest to you based on the processed data. TRAVel Media may create a profile of you as part of the optimization of its offers;
Complying with laws and regulations.
Being able to carry out market research and compile management information for product and service development and for determining the strategy of TRAVel Media.
The ability to analyze, maintain, optimize and secure the TRAVel Media (mobile) websites and other distribution platforms and associated technologies.
TRAVel Media does not retain personal data longer than permitted by law and deletes personal data when it is no longer necessary for the purposes described above after five years.

Sharing of personal data
Your personal data may be combined by TRAVel Media with data collected in the context of the use of TRAVel Media products or services.

Your address data may furthermore be provided to carefully selected third parties for sending information and offers by telephone and/or by post. These third parties can use your data to make you offers that they expect to match your interests. If you do not appreciate this, TRAVel Media will block your data for this purpose upon request.

TRAVel Media may use your electronic contact data, such as your e-mail address, to send you information and offers from third parties about their products and services only if you have given TRAVel Media unambiguous consent to do so. An example of this is attaching a third-party brochure to TravMagazine or sending you a third-party digital newsletter.

In special cases, TRAVel Media can make your personal data available to third parties without consent. For example, to comply with lawful requests from authorities, subpoenas or court orders, actions to detect or prevent damage or fraud, or actions to ensure the security of the TRAVel Media network and TRAVel Media services. TRAVel Media may also provide your personal data to so-called processors who deliver products or services to you at your request on behalf of TRAVel Media, whereby your personal data will be used solely for the purpose of fulfilling that delivery obligation. Agreements will be made with these processors on behalf of TRAVel Media in which it is determined that they have taken the correct organizational and technical measures to protect this data, and they continue to monitor this.

Inspection, correction, amendment and deletion of personal data
TRAVel Media endeavors at all times to correctly register the personal data it has obtained. During the processing thereof, or as a result of technical and other circumstances, data errors may occur or data collections may become incomplete.

As far as the AVG stipulates, you have the right to inspect, correct or delete (or have removed) the personal data processed by TRAVel Media at any time.

You can also indicate that you no longer wish your personal data to be provided to third parties or used to make targeted offers, or that you no longer wish to receive information and offers by e-mail or post. In your message, you must in any case include your full name, address and place of residence. If your request is not entirely clear, TRAVel Media may ask for further specification. After your request has been carried out, TRAVel Media will always send you a confirmation message. If you have registered on a TRAVel Media website, the website in question will always give you the opportunity to independently view and modify your personal data or to remove it in whole or in part.

Use of Cookies
Cookies are simple, small text files that are stored on the hard disk or in the memory of your computer. Cookies cannot damage your computer or the files stored in it.

TRAVel Media uses cookies to promote the ease of use of TRAVel Media activities. You have the choice to accept these cookies, you are not obliged to do so. You also have a usable website without cookies. For example, cookies allow you to be recognized on TRAVel Media websites when you revisit them. TRAVel Media also uses cookies to keep track of which products you have in your shopping basket or to record the preferences you have set (e.g. choice of language).

The TRAVel Media websites and other activities may also include buttons to promote or share pages or posts on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and the like. These buttons are realized by codes provided by the relevant social media platforms. These codes may also set cookies. For further information on the applicable privacy and cookie policies of these social networks, please refer to the (websites of the) relevant social networks.

TRAVel Media can also use cookies – depending on the consent given – to better tailor advertisements on the websites you visit to your needs and interests, in order to prevent you from seeing a particular advertisement too often. For this purpose, ‘session cookies’ and the advertising functions of Google Analytics Cookies are used; these are automatically deleted the moment you close your internet browser.

Advertisers and parties contracted by advertisers to purchase advertising space may also place cookies when showing ads on our websites. The use of cookies by third parties is subject to the privacy and cookie policies of those third parties.

Acceptance of cookies should, if desired, be enabled in advance via an Internet browser, which automatically grants permission for their use. Not enabling cookies could somewhat hinder the use of (parts of) the TRAVel Media activities. Cookies are not used to identify individual persons.

Websites/webpages of third parties
TRAVel Media websites contain (hyper)links to and/or banners and buttons of websites and/or specific web pages of third parties. Insofar as these are included by TRAVel Media, this has occurred exclusively for information and ease of use; they have been selected in good faith. TRAVel Media has no say over, influence or control over the content, policy and other characteristics of such websites and/or web pages and cannot in any case be held liable and/or responsible for their content and/or characteristics or for the way in which third parties handle your personal data and privacy. TRAVel Media has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss or against any form of unauthorized access, unauthorized disclosure or other unlawful processing. For example, all log-in data is stored securely. All TRAVel Media websites are also protected against abuse. The servers on which our website and user data are stored are protected by the latest technology, all our websites are https and our databases are secured in accordance with market standards.

TRAVel Media reserves the right to make changes to its privacy policy at any time. We therefore advise you to check this privacy policy regularly to see if there are any changes.
