Positivity beats the clock BTMF: ‘More and more is possible’

Mice and corporate travel are the last to get underway, many exhibitors said during the Business Travel Mice Fair, but they are looking to the future with a positive view. ‘More and more is possible.’

In many countries the major locations are open again, information is requested about the possibilities and bookings are also made again. For some destinations for a longer time, for some destinations the bookings are for the end of 2022, beginning of 2023.

Due to the corona crisis, it was the first Business Travel Mice Fair since 2019. This year’s edition, the fifteenth edition, took place just like two years ago in the Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam.

The afternoon kicked off under the leadership of TJ van Apeldoorn (co-owner TRAVel Media) who, under the watchful eye of participants and exhibitors, held discussions in a College Tour setting about the trends and the current situation at the Lufthansa Group with Roberto Mamone, Meetingselect with Judith Huisman and American Express Globall Business Travel with Swapna Nair. As a big surprise, Marijke Vink (ex-director GI Travel) received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Van Apeldoorn after a speech by René Klawer (CEO De Reisspecialisten Groep & GI Travel).

After the opening, the exhibition floor ‘Meet the World’ provided the opportunity to talk to various exhibitors. Several tourist boards, airlines, but also cities and hoteliers were present. While the exhibition floor was pleasantly busy, the tourist offices of Malta and Italy informed interested parties about the latest news during breakout sessions.

The day ended with a network drink in the SKYBAR 747. More in the magazines soon. View the photos on Facebook .
