Premium class and the Welcome Bar back at Thalys

Thalys is reintroducing its Premium class and the Thalys Welcome Bar starting this Sunday, September 5. A long interruption due to the coronavirus, a time that the Thalys teams have used to improve these services and make them more ecological.

A Premium Customer Experience
Starting September 5, Premium passengers aboard Thalys will once again be able to enjoy a gourmet meal served at their seat. The menu consists of an array of healthy, seasonal recipes, made with local produce, and created by Belgian chef Frank Fol, also known as “The Vegetables Chef®.”

Depending on the time of the trip, you can choose between breakfast, lunch, dinner (vegetarian options available) or an aperitif. Café Gourmet is also back with a sweet or savory snack and a drink. The dishes offered during the journey can be ordered via the new digital menus on board or directly on Thalys.com.

Thalys is delighted to welcome back Premium passengers, so it is donating a glass of Crémant de Bourgogne to passengers during the first month of the service’s relaunch. In addition, Premium travelers will still get free access to faster Wi-Fi, the My Driver service and the e-Press&More app, which allows them to download newspapers, magazines and comics for free.

Thalys Premium Experience:

  • Free access to lounges in Paris and Brussels. The ideal place to work, wait for the departure of Thalys or enjoy snacks and a hot drink;
  • An on-site gourmet meal;
  • A digital press offer through the e-Press&More app;
  • My Driver service, an online cab booking service to and from the station;
  • Ultimate travel comfort;
  • Access to faster wifi;
  • Individual sockets.

The Thalys Welcome Bar is back
The Thalys Welcome Bar is again available for those who wish to enjoy a sweet or savory snack or a cup of coffee. It is possible to purchase snacks and drinks, but is consumed while seated, in accordance with applicable health regulations. The digital bar is also available again, allowing passengers to pre-order their drinks and snacks in no time, saving time at the bar.

Thalys strengthens waste separation
With the resumption of on-board services, Thalys is emphasizing sustainable development more than ever and is going even further in waste sorting in Premium Class and in the Thalys Welcome Bar. In addition to paper and some plastic, all PET bottles and lids, aluminum cans, glass bottles and organic waste are now sorted and recycled in the Premium class. Sorting bins will be placed in the Welcome Bar to make it even easier to recycle the various waste products.

Health measures on board Thalys trains
The safety, well-being and health of passengers and employees remain at the heart of Thalys. It has therefore introduced appropriate hygiene and safety measures to ensure the safety of travelers.

The measures are as follows:

  • The wearing of a mask remains mandatory except during the catering service;
  • The corona certificate is mandatory for all passengers;
  • Reinforced cleaning of the train’s interior in intermediate stations and during the route;
  • For purchases at the Thalys Welcome Bar, the distance must be respected.

To help travelers prepare for their next trip in complete safety, Thalys has collected the most important boarding conditions for each country on its website.
