Accor, the leading global hospitality group, has 67 jobs in the Benelux region
created after the reopening of the hospitality industry. The roles vary across the hotels, from
kitchen brigades and bar staff to front-of-house and management, in all types of hotels in
the group’s diverse portfolio of brands, from economy to luxury hotels. The positions are
primarily focused on hotels in major cities in tourist destinations.
“The hospitality industry took a hit from Covid19, but it’s recovering, reopening and creating jobs
and opportunities as it always has,” says Sophie Kilic, who heads up Talent
& Culture for Accor hotels in Northern Europe. “Hospitality embodies everything that makes people the
missed the most last year: travel, bars, restaurants, wellness. It is a
popular sector and now there are opportunities to be part of the industry while this
is being rebuilt.”
“There are fantastic job opportunities in the hospitality industry these days and plenty of opportunities to be part
make of a sector that plays an important role in the economic recovery of the
Benelux,” said Kilic.
She added: “People work in the hospitality industry because they need a job, or they
want to build a career and sometimes because it is their calling. Whatever the motivation, whatever
them experience and learn in the hospitality industry is invaluable. We learn to always
to be ready for the unexpected, to understand different cultures, to be in a quick
environment to work, to always have a can-do attitude, to be business savvy
and most importantly to connect people.”
“During this crisis, our industry has done what it does best; care for people.
Together, we looked around our companies and saw opportunities to make a difference
making, helping people and providing hospitality at a time when it is most
needed. The way our sector reacted to the crisis shows that it was stronger than
will ever return. People are the heart and soul of hospitality and the key to the
success of the industry. Because we played our part during this crisis, we continue to
commit to playing our part in the recovery, both in terms of our economic impact
as our role as an employer,” Kilic said.
With a turnover of 28 billion, the added value of the hospitality industry for the Dutch
economy in recent years has increased more than average. The hospitality industry is becoming increasingly
more important to the Dutch economy. This is evident from an analysis by KHN. The number of
employed in the hospitality industry (+30%) and economic value added (+61%) increased
stronger than the average for the Dutch economy.
