Yvonne van der Klaauw will join Pulitzer Amsterdam as its new General Manager on October 1, 2019. She succeeds Alex van Gastel who becomes Managing Director of Lore Group Netherlands, responsible for the Dutch hotels including Pulitzer Amsterdam and Kimpton De Witt.
Yvonne van der Klaauw began her career at Prince de Galles in Paris and Sheraton Brussels, where she held several sales positions. As Director of Sales, Van der Klaauw opened the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport hotel in 1997, after which she moved on to become Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Starwood Netherlands. In 2015, she took the step to become part of the team that made Pulitzer Amsterdam independent. As Director of Business Development, her responsibilities included the successful repositioning of the five-star hotel following its extensive renovation.

The renovated Pulitzer Amsterdam is a luxury hotel situated in 25 joined 17th and 18th century canal houses in one of Amsterdam’s chicest neighborhoods. The five-star hotel reopened its doors in August 2016 after a 1.5-year renovation and restyling. The hotel now offers 225 guest rooms, an extensive serene courtyard garden, meeting and event spaces as well as restaurant Jansz. and Pulitzer’s Bar that showcase local flavors and products. In 2020, Pulitzer Amsterdam will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
