American Airlines will gradually restart its flights from Europe to America. In doing so, Amsterdam is one of the first European destinations to be flown again, the airline announced Thursday.
The flight in question is the Amsterdam – Dallas Fort Worth flight, which begins June 4, 2020 and will be flown until September 27, 2020 (summer season). The Amsterdam – Philadelphia route will follow in September. Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Philadelphia (PHL) are both American Airlines hubs that the airline says offer excellent connections to the domestic network. One daily flight from Amsterdam is planned for the remainder of 2020.
The supply is loaded into the GDS systems. ‘There may of course be changes given the current situation, but we believe this is a first example of our commitment to the Dutch market. It is our intention to retain these frequencies as announced,’ American Airlines said in a note.
