The Hotello of the Year Award is the annual election for Hotello’s from a recognized High Hotel School program in the Netherlands. This prestigious award is presented each year by HotelloTOP to the Hotello who has performed distinctively within or outside the hospitality industry. The Hotello of the Year distinguishes himself through the core values; hospitable, optimistic, energetic, socially adept, inventive and pragmatic, ambitious and workaholic.
Election
Nominations can be submitted here through Saturday, October 17, 2020. More than 100 Hotello’s are nominated each year. A committee will reduce this number to a top 10, which will submit a motivation to the organization. A carefully selected professional jury will evaluate these motivations and announce the 3 finalists. Finalists will have the opportunity to solicit votes and present themselves online until the 2021 Hotello of the Year Award presentation at the HotelloTOP Year Event on Wednesday, January 13, 2021.
Hotello of the Year Award Ceremony 2021
The 2021 Hotello of the Year Award will be presented during the HotelloTOP Year Event, where the finalists’ motivational videos will be presented and they will give a short pitch. The judging of the professional jury, the online recruitment campaign and the live vote in the room will determine the Hotello of the Year 2021. The winner, in addition to eternal fame, will go home with fantastic prizes!
Other Awards in 2021
In addition to the Hotello of the Year Award, the Talent of the Year Award will also be presented and will be in a different format for 2021 and will not start until the new year. The Talent of the Year Award is an incentive award for a student at, or a maximum of two years graduate of, one of the recognized Dutch High Hotel Schools. The Talent of the Year has already achieved something special or put something exceptional into practice during their studies, in school or in the work field in 2020, and the expectations for this Hotello are high.
In addition, HotelloTOP has partnered with Postillion Hotels for the third time in a row this year and we are once again giving away a General Manager job in The NXT GM Challenge! Signing up for the challenge started earlier this summer and the top 10 will be announced soon. With the presentation of this award, Postillion Hotels offers a stage to talented Hotello’s. Postillion Hotels & HotelloTOP find it important to stimulate ambition and talent and to show Hotello’s how versatile the hotel industry is.
