Amex GBT expands hotel offerings with SAP Concur

American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) and SAP® Concur have agreed to link GBT’s Supply Management Platform (SMP) with Concur® Travel to enrich its hotel offering. Thanks to this agreement, customers who use the Concur Travel booking tool and have access to SMP will be able to take full advantage of GBT’s accommodation program. Benefits include access to a wider range of hotels and an improved booking experience.

SMP is part of the GBT Core Technology Platform and a driving force behind GBT’s end-to-end accommodation booking solution, Rest Assured Solutions. This provides in one place all the enriched GDS and non-GDS travel offerings. GBT’s unique hotel offerings include value-added rates and amenities from the GBT Preferred Extras® program, Booking.com, Expedia, and other sources. SMP delivers the same content to online booking tools, mobile apps and GBT travel advisors to create a consistent experience across all channels. The new integration of SMP and the Concur Travel online booking tool provides users with the same enriched hotel offerings currently available in GBT’s offline, mobile and other online channels.

Evan Konwiser, GBT’s EVP Product and Strategy said, “GBT has built innovative platforms to provide the best offerings and experience to our customers across all channels. As we add new hotels, rates, amenities, photos and descriptions from a variety of sources, this link allows us to provide added value to customers using Concur Travel.”

Concur Travel’s link with SMP strengthens its integration with the GBT Core Technology Platform and demonstrates both companies’ commitment to working closely on technology. Concur Travel is currently integrated into GBT’s Global Trip Record, Connect Profile, Centralized Ticket Exchange and other services related to data. Collectively, these components form a secure environment to optimize traveler data, and provide innovative solutions and a better experience for the traveler.

“We strive to provide personalized services to our customers that add value to their travel programs,” said Max Miller, vice president of TMC development at SAP Concur. “Over the past sixteen years, we have built a strong relationship with GBT during our collaboration on some of the largest business travel programs in the world. We now look forward to following up with the most recent integration with their industry-leading technology.”
