The slot coordinator allocates 3,574 additional non-historic slots at Schiphol, as was expected. A total of 17 airlines, 6 of which are freight carriers, have received these non-historic slots, Barin said. ‘Following Minister Harbers’ decision to suspend the Experimental Scheme, Schiphol Airport requested the slot coordinator to issue an addendum in which the full total annual capacity was reflected in the Capacity Declaration for Summer’24. The number of slots originally allocated for S’24 of 281,000 was increased to 293,000 slots, resulting in the allocation of all historical slots and 3,574 non-historical slots. New entrants without historic slots, such as JetBlue and Air India that started their services in 2023, are now also being allocated slots.
