Dubai slashes prices alcohol, makes for cheaper events

Dubai has suspended a 30% tax on alcohol effective January 1 and removed a license fee previously required to purchase alcohol in the commercial and tourist hub, local media and Reuters reported. It means that alcohol becomes significantly cheaper in the emirate. It is a 1 year test.

The change should further increase Dubai’s appeal to tourists and expatriates compared to other Gulf states and countries in the region.
