All Campanile hotels in the Netherlands, along with Premiere Classe Breda, Campanile Vilvoorde, and Tulip Inn Antwerp in Belgium, have been awarded the Ecostars sustainability label. Ecostars, an independent certification focused on hotels, evaluates and recognizes the environmental impact of hotels per stay.
Ecostars assesses a hotel’s sustainability based on various criteria, including energy and water usage, CO2 emissions, recycling practices, and minimizing or eliminating plastic packaging. The certification also takes into account the social engagement of the organization. As a result, 14 properties under the Louvre Hotels Group Benelux, comprising 12 Campanile hotels, one Premiere Classe hotel, and the Tulip Inn Antwerp, have now achieved this esteemed sustainable certification.
Iris Versnel, Operations Director Benelux at Louvre Hotels: ‘With this certification, Campanile shows that responsibility can and must be taken even in the mid-segment. Corporate social responsibility is now deeply embedded in both the owner, Louvre Hotels Group, and the individual hotels. This is not just in terms of packaging, energy, or water consumption. We are also committed in other areas. For instance, Team Campanile Benelux will walk on December 16th for dementia research at Erasmus MC, we’re reducing food waste, and we’re collaborating with the Food and Holiday Bank.’
