France has started the year well again. The first signs for the coming summer are excellent. The current winter is also going very well, and the crocus holidays in France also seem to be receiving a lot of enthusiasm from the Dutch. This became apparent at the well-attended Explore France workshop in the Utrecht where also Mice specialists were given the updates of twenty or so partners who had come over from France. A big event this year will be the World Cup Rugby.
France also looks back on a successful 2022. The Dutch know how to find France again, from Normandy and Brittany to the interior and the southern coasts.
‘As we approach the end of the year, the Atout France Netherlands team is thrilled to read the latest statistics from INSEE on visitors to France between April and September 2022, making Dutch travelers the second most present nationality ! As visitors from Europe make up the largest share of non-resident tourist visits (with a +1.6% increase in overnight stays), the two main clientele in terms of overnight stays come from the Netherlands and Germany . During the summer of 2022, each of these two countries generated more than 15 million overnight stays in mainland France, +6.9% and +11.2% respectively compared to the same period in 2019.’
