Aeromexico bets on Mexico as incentive destination

To raise awareness of Mexico as an incentive destination, Aeromexico & Travelmediate recently organized a study tour to Mexico City & Los Cabos. From January 18 to 24, 5 incentive agents took a combo trip to Mexico City (1 ½ days) and Los Cabos (2 ½ days). Flights were provided by Aeromexio. Direct from Amsterdam to Mexico City (about 11 hours) and from Mexico City to Los Cabos (1 hour and 45 minutes). The focus was on getting a feel for and exploring the possibilities of Mexico City & Los Cabos. In addition to the Historic Center and the Pyramids of Teotihuacan (an hour’s drive from Mexico City), the report further zoomed in on Mexico City as an incentive destination by outlining ideas and themes such as Frida Kahlo, the Aztecs, Lucha Libre (the world-famous Mexican show wrestling), ballooning over Mexico City and the popular F1 Grand Prix of Mexico (which usually coincides with Mexico’s National Holiday: Dia de Muertos).

Los Cabos is located on the west coast of Mexico and is flown several times a day by Aeromexico from Mexico City. It is the Mexican part of California and it positions itself as having the best of 2 worlds. On the one hand, you will find the “Aquarium of the World” as the ocean is also called here and which is due to the immense variety of marine life. Because the sea here gets deep very quickly, Whales can be admired even from the shore. On the other hand, there is the desert landscape with its countless cacti. Great contrasts within reasonable distances which lend themselves particularly well to numerous activities at sea and on land. In addition to getting acquainted with the various activities on offer, several site inspections were done during the stay in Los Cabos in order to get an impression of the (luxury) hotel offerings in the region.

For Aeromexico, Los Cabos is one of its focus destinations in the Dutch vacation market. The diversity of the destination and the excellent level of quality fits the Dutch market perfectly in the eyes of the company. Recently, the airline entered into a partnership with TUI whereby the destination is offered as a package holiday.

Aeromexico offers very comfortable connections to Los Cabos via a changeover in Mexico City. It flies daily with the very modern Dreamliner 787-9 aircraft.
