Amsterdam gets first Hard Rock Hotel in the Netherlands

With a presence in over 76 countries, Hard Rock International announces the expansion of its hotel portfolio, with the opening of Hard Rock Hotel Amsterdam American. The current American Hotel on Leidseplein, located in one of the city’s most famous art nouveau buildings, will be the first hotel in the Netherlands to offer the signature Hard Rock atmosphere starting in April 2020. The hotel also remains the home of Café Americain where the world-famous reading table – Amsterdam’s oldest – will make its return.

Feel like a rock star
Todd Hricko, Senior Vice President and Head of Global Hotel Business Development, said, “We are thrilled to bring Hard Rock to the city that was officially named the Music City of the Netherlands just last year. Amsterdam is a renowned venue for entertainment and one of the most important cultural cities in Europe. It therefore provides an excellent backdrop for our music-inspired destination.’ The Hard Rock hotel will have 173 rooms and suites; the interiors have already been renovated recently. This fall, the lobby will also be returned to its original state. All vintage decorative elements will remain intact, from stained glass windows to vibrant paintings on the interior walls, which will also be adorned with signature Hard Rock memorabilia.
