Aruba borders reopen between June 15 and July 1

Aruba has scaled back some measures since last week, as part of a gradual reopening strategy. This strategy is based on four fourteen-day phases.

During each phase, businesses and other parts of the economy are allowed to reopen. The whole process of arriving at the new normal is built up gradually.

Aruba’s tourism bureau is hopeful that by June 15 most government agencies and other businesses on the island will be open again. So writes Ronella Tjin Asjoe-Croes, CEO of the Aruba Tourism Authority, in an email to partners.

‘With regard to travel to Aruba, no definitive dates have been set yet, but we are working with the government on a tentative plan to reopen the borders of our One happy island in the period of June 15 – July 1, 2020.’

‘Needless to say, this will be accompanied by a comprehensive implementation of strict health and safety measures that are already being put into effect. These include targeted protocols for the airport, hotels and resorts, the hospitality industry and car rental companies, among others.’ The tourism bureau expects to have more information in the coming weeks.

‘We will be sharing more information about the exact reopening date of the island and our hygiene and decontamination program in the near future. The continued support we receive from our partners as we work together to make Aruba come out of this even stronger is greatly appreciated.
