BCD Travel has announced its 2019 financial results. Total revenue in 2019 was $27.5 billion, of which $10.9 billion was partner revenue. Sales increased by 1% compared to 2018, despite global economic uncertainty and political unrest in many parts of the world. Sales from new sales again exceeded the 1 billion mark.
“We are pleased with our growth last year and will announce more 2019 financial information at the end of March,” said Cees Batenburg, Global Chief Financial Officer at BCD. “2020 began with an industry-wide decline in travel, particularly in Asia due to the coronavirus. We are prepared to implement our clients’ travel policies and assist travelers and travel managers with all the resources at our disposal.”
Ambition
BCD continued its ambitious acquisition strategy in 2019. The company purchased Adelman Travel Group, one of the largest full-service business travel companies in North America, and took a majority stake in its partner in Japan, one of Asia’s most important business travel markets. BCD Meetings & Events purchased L37 Creative (L37), active in event production and creative media with its headquarters in Chicago, and expanded its global partner network in Taiwan, the 15th market added to the partner network in the past three years.
