Despite the increasing corona infections in Spain, the Fitur Madrid will continue as planned from January 19 to 23.
Ifema Madrid, the organizer of the fair, has confirmed this once again on its website.
All concerning organizations have unanimously agreed to hold the tourism fair. This includes the Spanish Government, the Madrid Regional Government, the Madrid City Council and the UNWTO World Tourism Organization.
Keeping the Fitur going is the best way to support the tourism industry in critical times and contribute to a full recovery and return to normalcy as it was before the pandemic, the organization says.
Ifema Madrid will use extra hygiene checks and safety measures.
For example, visitors from the EU must show a vaccination certificate.
There is an automated system at the fair to measure the crowds in all eight halls, face masks are mandatory, there are temperature controls and a ventilation system that refreshes the air every 20 minutes.
