Exponential growth in airline ticket sales

Following the most recent travel easing, more than four times as many airline tickets were booked for the summer season in May on average compared to the previous month. This is evident from data from Vliegtickets.nl.

For now, it is mainly about vacation spots. The five most popular destinations are Malaga, Ibiza, Barcelona, Mallorca and Alicante.

In the month of May, the number of airline tickets booked with outbound and inbound travel in June, July or August increased by 350%. Bookings were made mainly to Spain, Portugal and Italy. For the fall period (round trip in October), the number of airline tickets booked increased an average of 150%.
