First Van der Valk Hotel on the Wadden Islands

Hotel De Pelikaan Texel will become Van der Valk Hotel De Koog-Texel in 2021. This makes the first Van der Valk Hotel on the Wadden Islands a fact.

Derk (26), fourth generation Van der Valk, and one of the three sons of Tjomme Langebeek and Corry van der Valk, will run the hotel. The hotel has 61 rooms, a restaurant, a brown cafe and 4 function rooms. The apartments in the adjacent complex ‘Residence de Pelikaan’ are partly rented through the hotel. The current owner, Rob Vos, will continue to rent out ‘De Pelikaan Vakantiewoningen’ and ‘De Pelikaan Catering’ himself.

Tjomme and Corry see a dream come true with a Van der Valk Hotel on Texel. After Van der Valk Hotel Drachten, where Sjoerd (28) has taken over the helm, and Van der Valk Hotel Groningen-Hoogkerk where Stijn (30) has been in charge since construction, it is now up to Derk to realize his ambitions on Texel. A special detail is that grandma Corry van der Valk-de Wit was born and raised on the Vooruitgang farm in De Cocksdorp on Texel. The connection with the island has always been there and that is transforming in 2021: from PELIKAAN to TOEKAN!

In the coming years, Van der Valk will use the ‘Look & Feel’ of the hotel to adjust and bring it up to the Van der Valk standard. Hotel De Koog-Texel is a beautiful new Van der Valk establishment with its convenient central location on the island, at the edge of the forest and 1400 meters from the beach. An ideal place to stay as a guest on Texel.
