A full house and a rain of prizes. Yesterday the BTMF, the Business Traveller & Mice Fair, was held with great success at the Apollo Hotel Vinkeveen Amsterdam. Lectures, a full exhibition floor and a pleasant networking reception attracted many visitors from the business travel market. The date for next year was also already communicated: Monday, September 9 at the new Corendon Village Hotel Amsterdam.
During this year’s Business Traveller & MICE Fair, there was once again plenty of networking and, to top it all off, enjoyable drinks. The speakers also made interesting presentations. Roel Frissen of Event Design Collective told us how to put together a good event. For many companies today, events are a necessity to keep in touch with their customers. Visitors honored that every event should contribute to a better world. Frissen wrote the Event Design handbook with Dennis Luijer that explains this and more.
Franc Vink of Schiphol Premium Services spoke about the affordable luxury that Schiphol offers us. We got to know more about the Previum Service program, for frequent flyers of any airline, and about VIP Service, available to everyone.
Marije Breuker, our columnist and also founder/owner of Motivation Travel, talked about the past, present and future of mice travel. She explained that the applicants are getting a very different profile than before, now she sees, for example, relatively unknown destinations like Tirana coming up more and more often as a destination. Also, since the crisis, companies are sending staff into the field less, but Breuker recommends doing so, so that you can offer just that one restaurant.
David Compier of AirPlus showed us the benefits of seamless payments, the future of payment. During his own journey, David had only 3 traditional payment moments in 4 days. Everything in this is about simplifying payment.
Erik Jan Reuver, director of SGR, was our final speaker and closed the presentations by telling us about the differences between SGR and its sister SGRZ. Consumers will mostly know SGR, business customers will probably know SGRZ. Both help with unexpected costs and circumstances during your trip.
