Pulitzer Amsterdam is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The famous hotel is celebrating 50 years with the appropriately themed “Stories To Stay. Founder Peter Pulitzer took the bold step of being one of the first to connect historic Golden Age properties in 1970, opening the hotel on Prinsengracht. Over the years, the unique Amsterdam hotel has welcomed more than four million guests from around the world to its twenty-five canal houses.
Festive Theme ‘Stories To Stay’
Pulitzer Amsterdam celebrates 50 years with the appropriate theme of “Stories To Stay. The acclaimed hotel emphasizes the stories created by previous residents, visitors and hotel guests over the past 50 years that will be preserved forever. Over the years, the Amsterdam hotel has been able to amaze several generations with the magic of contemporary hospitality.
Yvonne van der Klaauw, General Manager of Pulitzer Amsterdam, says: “For 50 years we have been proud to be a place where everyone can feel special; from hotel guests to neighbors, and Amsterdammers. Not without reason, there are employees who have enjoyed working here for more than 40 years. Our anniversary marks the next chapter and is a very special moment in the history of this hotel. I am immensely proud of the efforts of everyone who has been involved in the past 50 years of the hotel.”
The theme inspired all activities during the holiday season including the festive Garden Party with the unveiling of the Peter Pulitzer statue and the 50 Years Celebration Package. Also this year, the hotel is sharing 50 stories from previous guests, 50 interesting reasons to visit Pulitzer Amsterdam and is giving away a total of 50 nights so everyone can create their own Pulitzer memory. Everyone who turns 50 in October will receive a Pulitzer 50 Years cocktail at the classic hotel bar Pulitzer’s Bar during the anniversary month of October.
