(immigration and customs) are processed. This will certainly lead to shorter waiting and processing times at both immigration and customs. The form is online (available at: https://c5online.pica.gov.jm/apply/ ) and passengers, who have booked their trip to Jamaica, can fill it out in advance. This instead of the

completing the paper version upon arrival at the airport. Passengers who have completed the online form will be directed to specially designated officials upon arrival for faster processing.

“As the number of arrivals in Jamaica continues to rise, it is important that we offer a faster process at our airports so that our visitors spend less time waiting at immigration and customs and more time enjoying the destination,” said Donovan White, Director Jamaica Tourist Board. “We are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience of visitors to Jamaica we hope that this improvement will also promote a greater number of visits.”

“The new system is efficient because it is user-friendly and requires minimal effort on the part of the traveler,” said Andrew Wynter, CEO of Jamaica’s Passport, Immigration & Citizenship Agency (PICA). “Once you click on one of the boxes, you go to the next option; we don’t want people to spend too much time on the form, we want them to focus on their stay and experience in Jamaica. ”

According to PICA, the system was created and designed by Information and Communications Technology staff at both PICA and JCA (Jamaica Customs Agency), in consultation with other stakeholders. As part of its ongoing efforts to improve the arrival experience, Customs’ next project is to launch a mobile application.
