Jupiter Hotels closes all hotels in UK due to coronavirus

The health, safety and well-being of our guests and employees is the highest priority, so we collectively take all necessary measures to maintain and ensure this. So says Shane Harris (Chief Executive at Jupiter Hotels – which includes Mercure and Holiday Inn). “After closely following and evaluating the latest government recommendations, I have decided to temporarily close our hotels.

‘Guests will be contacted by our teams and offered a full refund or the option to make a new booking for a later date. While this is a difficult decision, we believe it is the right decision in our ongoing efforts to unite with the country and stop the spread of this virus.

‘I am also incredibly committed to protecting the vast majority of jobs in our portfolio of 31 hotels across the UK, and will work closely with the government to secure the future of our many hard working teams to support them during and after this global health crisis.’

‘Our plan is to resume our normal, friendly service as soon as possible, and in the meantime we will be working hard to ensure that any stays, weddings, meetings or events that have been affected or postponed can run as planned.’
