KLM to be named KLM Open until at least 2022

KLM Netherlands extends its contract as partner and namesake of the KLM Dutch Open through 2022. Harm Kreulen, director of KLM Netherlands, announced this recently during a press conference at Bernardus Golf in Cromvoirt, Brabant, the venue for the next three editions of the KLM Open.

The first Dutch Open was played in 1912. In 1981, the tournament got a namesake for the first time: KLM Dutch Open. KLM was title sponsor through 1990. In 2004, the airline picked up the thread. Since then, it has been continuously associated as title sponsor with the largest international golf tournament on Dutch soil. The 2019 anniversary edition was attended by more than 50,000 spectators, who enjoyed four days of top golf. It remained exciting until the last moment – only with the last put and with one stroke difference did Sergio Garcia secure the victory of the 100th tournament.

KLM is pleased to announce the renewal of its title sponsorship for the KLM Open through 2022. The KLM Open has become a household name in golf and represents a professional and high quality multi-day sporting event in the Netherlands. The tournament has strong national and international appeal and fits well with our goals. In addition to visibility for KLM, the KLM Open is a valued sporting event that is ideally suited to strengthening the relationship with our customers and partners.
