Meetingselect: new solution for Distance Seating

Meetingselect launches new functionality for social distancing at 1.5m. This functionality provides meeting planners with the tool to book meeting venues and conference hotels, with participants meeting with appropriate and safe distance in the desired room arrangement.

Meetingselect, the platform for online booking, management and payment of meeting venues and conference hotels worldwide, has developed a new search functionality for social distancing at 1.5 meters, or ‘Distance Seating’, to ensure that meeting participants can safely reconvene in accordance with both their own company’s regulations as well as new regulations from the government per country.

In cooperation with major hotel chains, the Dutch company has developed a new algorithm to calculate the complexity of distance requirements per type of room setup and per location based on the regulations of the respective country.

Based on the booker’s setup preference (e.g. U-shape, Boardroom, Theater or School setup) and social distance requirements, the software will automatically suggest venues and meeting rooms that meet it, making the search and request for quotes less time-consuming.

“Partly due to long-term relationships and high volume in the meetings industry, Meetingselect was able to realize savings of up to 70 percent for customers during the COVID-19 crisis,” says Anouk Roohé, Meetingselect co-founder.

‘When customers had to cancel meetings and group bookings en masse, we jointly engaged with the hotel and meeting industry to create the best situations for venues and customers. Clients can see where all their meetings are booked and how much savings have been made at the click of a button. Also, since last week we have seen an increase in the number of external meetings again which is positive news for our industry.

The new functionality Social Distancing is available starting today.
