New meals at Garuda in economy

Garuda Indonesia launches new meals in economy class. With the “New Signature Dishes of Indonesia,” the society aims to highlight the cultural and culinary diversity of Indonesia.

The introduction of these in-flight meals highlights local dishes. A total of 21 “signature dishes of Indonesia” were introduced. Aerofood ACS, part of Garuda Indonesia, came up with 15 dishes and the other six were developed in collaboration with the Sari Mande restaurant. This restaurant has several branches in Jakarta and is known for local Padang cuisine (West Sumatra). This cuisine is one of the most popular in Indonesia and mainly uses coconut milk to simmer meat and lots of chili peppers. One of the new dishes is the popular Nasi Goreng Special.
The new in-flight meals are currently only available on domestic flights, but the concept will be rolled out on international flights in the future.
