New long-haul routes Brussels Airport

Brussels Airlines will launch a new route to Toronto (Canada) in spring 2016. The airline also announced that it will put a new A330 into service for flights to Africa.

In addition, Brussels Airlines partner United will add a second daily flight between Brussels Airport and New York (Newark) for the summer season. The flights to Toronto and New York replace the connections Jet Airways decided to discontinue as of March 27, 2016. These developments should strengthen the long-haul network of Brussels Airport.

Brussels Airlines will offer five weekly direct flights to Toronto from Brussels Airport. This direct connection to Canada will thus be interrupted only briefly after Jet Airways’ departure on March 26, 2016.

During the 2016 summer season, United will maintain its transatlantic offerings by switching from one to two daily flights to New York. In addition, Brussels Airlines is strengthening its frequency to Kigali (Rwanda) and Entebbe (Uganda) from spring 2016, and a new Airbus A330 will be commissioned in 2018 to further develop its African offering.
