Postillion Hotels Nederland will open a Convention Centre in Amsterdam on 31 October 2016. The location of this new conference room is the grounds of the Kauwgomballenfabriek, near Amsterdam Amstel station. Located in the existing building of the Chewing Gum Factory, the Convention Center can accommodate groups of up to 1,200 people.
In the fall of 2017, Postillion Hotels will open a completely new hotel on the property with 256 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, a gym and even more conference facilities. Today construction begins on this section of Postillion Hotel Amsterdam. To celebrate the opening of the Convention Centre, the hotel chain is launching a competition where event managers can win their Dream Event worth €30,000.
With the Meet Work Stay concept, Postillion Hotels Netherlands is targeting the modern professional where meeting, working and staying are central. This new location in Amsterdam is fully in line with this concept. The Convention Centre has 17 modern rooms suitable for organizing small meetings to large, multi-day conferences, from product presentations to trade shows, from company parties to dinners. The main plenary hall is 1000 m2 with an adjacent 800 m2 of exhibition space. The Convention Centre is located just off the A10 motorway, only 15 minutes from Schiphol Airport and 5 minutes from the center of Amsterdam. The site is also easily accessible by public transportation.
Special place
Erik-Jan Ginjaar, director Postillion Hotels Netherlands: ‘We are making a big step with this expansion to the capital, it is our eighth location. It is a great new establishment, in an important and special place. The old Chewing Gum Ball Factory carries with it a piece of postwar history. On this spot, we are now allowed to set up something beautiful and big: the Convention Centre, together with the hotel, forms a major new player in the national and international business hotel market.’
