TUI launches (international) home working with Workation

TUI comes up with TUI Workation; the combination of work and vacation without costing vacation days.

To pay attention to the mental well-being of homeworkers, TUI developed the TUI Workation concept for this purpose; combining work and vacation. “Working in an inspiring environment, in a well-equipped workplace where you can enjoy the relaxed vacation feeling after a productive working day. Or where you simply get new energy from a beautiful environment and from conversations with other Workationers. These could be colleagues, your family members or people from a completely different industry who are also on Workation there. For the TUI Workation, the travel organization selected a number of suitable and comfortable accommodations at home and abroad,” says the travel organization.

Frans Leenaars (Chief Marketing Officer TUI Western Region): “The TUI Workation offers employees every opportunity to be just as productive as at home. But in an environment that inspires and at the same time brings rest and relaxation. After all, how wonderful it is to take a dip in the swimming pool, walk along the beach or relax in the hotel spa after an intensive working day. But also the conversations with other Workationers bring inspiration, connection and new insights. This concept is interesting for both employee and employer. It keeps employees motivated and involved, offers space for relaxation and thus contributes to mental well-being, I am 100% convinced of that.”

Workation Lab
The concept will initially be deployed primarily in partnership with companies. In a so-called Workation Lab it is further elaborated and developed. The first pilot trip left yesterday for the Algarve. Employees from seven different Dutch and Belgian companies are currently staying at the TUI BLUE Falésia hotel in Olhos d’Agua, Portugal. They are there doing their daily work, at the same time testing the facilities and giving direct feedback to the Workation Lab supervisor who is traveling with them.

Locations
In the start-up phase, TUI offers Workations in the Netherlands – in cooperation with Droomparken – and at a limited number of foreign destinations. Of course, current travel advisories are taken into account. The concept is currently being rolled out primarily in collaboration with companies, but a Workation can also be booked individually.
