KLM to launch Amsterdam-Portland route

KLM has announced plans to launch year-round flights between Amsterdam Schiphol and Portland later this year.

The route is currently served by joint venture partner and fellow SkyTeam member Delta, but the US carrier will cease flights on 26 October, with KLM taking over the following day.

The Dutch flag carrier will offer a thrice-weekly service during the winter season, rising to five flights per week for summer 2025.

Amsterdam-Portland will be KLM’s 21 North American destination, and will be served by the airline’s Boeing 787-9 aircraft configured with 30 seats in World Business Class, 21 in premium economy and 224 in economy.

Schedules will operate as follows:

Winter schedule

  • Flight KL615 departs Amsterdam Schiphol at 1025 on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving into Portland International at 1125
  • Flight KL616 departs Portland International at 1325 on Tuesday, Friday and Sunday, arriving into Amsterdam Schiphol at 0750 the following day

Summer schedule

  • Flight KL615 departs Amsterdam Schiphol at 1040 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving into Portland International at 1130
  • Flight KL616 departs Portland International at 1330 on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, arriving into Amsterdam Schiphol at 0755 the following day
