Meeting Trophy (Edition 16): playful discovery tour through Switzerland

Seven national teams, 80 participants, brilliant weather and above all a lot of fun. Those were the ingredients of the 16th edition of the Switzerland Meeting Trophy.

Organized by Switzerland Tourism, this unconventional rally has become an annual summer event for meeting and incentive travel (MICE) specialists.

The Meeting Trophy is more than a study trip. It is a rally across Switzerland, with a high level of competition. The participants work in the MICE sector and are organizers of seminars, meetings and incentives.

The 16th edition took place on the route from Villars-sur-Ollon to Montreux-Vevey and Lausanne and ended in Geneva. Along the way, the participants were able to get acquainted with Switzerland and the local range of meeting facilities and event locations in a playful way.

The teams were from the UK and Ireland, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, North America and Scandinavia. The team from North America finished in first place.

As always, the Dutch team was under the inspiring leadership of Lisette van Dolderen of the Switzerland Convention & Incentive Bureau in Amsterdam. “It was a great group,” she says. “Interested and very skilled.”
