Sally Glen Director of Sales and Marketing Golden Rock Resort

The luxury Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort on St. Eustatius (Statia), one of the hidden gems in the Caribbean, is expanding its executive leadership team with the appointment of Sally Glen as its new Director of Sales and Marketing. With an illustrious career developing sales strategies for luxury hospitality brands around the world, including the prestigious Gleneagles five star resort in Scotland, Accor International in Australia, and Marriott International in both Australia and Scotland, Glen will apply her business acumen as Golden Rock Resort is preparing for its grand opening this winter.

Fresh wind for the resort
“I am extremely excited to work at such a beautiful resort and to help put the still relatively unknown Statia on the map. It’s an island that deserves so much more recognition on the global stage, it’s breathtakingly beautiful both above and below the surface,” said Sally Glen, Director of Sales and Marketing, Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort.

Glen began her international hospitality career in 2007 after being selected for the Marriott Voyage Graduate Management Program and quickly worked her way up through the ranks of food and beverage operations, rooms operations, and eventually sales and marketing at the Sydney Harbor Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay. In addition to her professional achievements, Glen is an avid sailor and scuba diver, making her feel right at home on Statia.

“We are delighted to add Sally to our growing executive team at the Golden Rock Resort. In addition to her decades-long career, she shares the same passion for improving tourism at the destination in a way that preserves the authentic island experience,” said Peter Barnhoorn, CEO of Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort.

Final phase of the opening
The Golden Rock Resort, which opened its first phase in September 2021 with 32 rooms and suites with sea views, an infinity pool, tennis court, wellness club and fine-dining restaurant Breeze overlooking the sea and St. Barth, is now preparing on its final phase that will debut this winter with 26 villas and 17 lodges, a highly anticipated beach club with an artificial lagoon, yoga, and a greenhouse to take the farm to table concept for the restaurant to an even higher level. The official opening of the Golden Rock Resort will take place in Q1 of 2023.
