From January 22, 2024, Swiss will fly 6 times a week to and from Zurich from Rotterdam The Hague Airport (RTHA). Swiss is a new airline at the airport. The flights will be operated within the existing noise space and with A220 aircraft. These aircraft are considerably quieter than the current generation of aircraft flying at RTHA.
Execution of flights within existing noise space
Swiss will operate the flights in the period from January 22 to March 29, 2024. There will be flights every day, except Saturdays. The slots have been allocated by Slot Coordination Netherlands – the independent body responsible for allocating slots to airlines and fall within the existing noise limit. Swiss aims to continue flying to Zurich via RTHA during the summer season. Whether this is possible depends on the availability of slots during this period.

Important addition to the route network
Both Swiss and RTHA are pleased with the addition of this destination on RTHA. Benedikt Escher, Director of Route Development at Swiss, says: ‘As a Swiss airline, our mission is to offer an attractive and varied route network, in line with the needs of our passengers. We see Rotterdam as a valuable addition and a city worth visiting in all respects.’
Wilma van Dijk, General Manager at RTHA says ‘Zürich was high on our wish list as a destination and is an important addition to the region. We are therefore very pleased to welcome Swiss to our airport.”
