‘Who is Amsterdam’ kicks off

‘Who is Amsterdam’, according to its own words ‘the platform for contemporary tourism in and around Amsterdam’ celebrated its official start on March 23 last in Brouwerij de Prael in the heart of Amsterdam.

The central question of whether ‘tourism and a liveable city go together’ was answered by six speakers from Who is Amsterdam and its partners in the form of practical stories. These stories were based on five central themes:
1. Conservation of cultural heritage
Connecting visitors to traditions, beliefs, history and architecture.
2. Create benefits for local residents and entrepreneurs
Stimulating the local economy by offering homegrown products and working together with residents and independent entrepreneurs.
3. Sustainable leadership
Defining success that goes beyond profit.
4. Inclusion.
Ensure that everyone has access to equal rights and equal treatment.
5. Respect for the environment.
Conservation of natural resources and protection of local ecosystems.

Who is Amsterdam and its partners attract visitors who really want to know the city and are looking for unique personal experiences. On her platform you can find tours that tell stories that cannot be found in guidebooks, tours where visitors chat with striking Amsterdammers, visit authentic Amsterdam family businesses and taste their wares, or learn about the counter-culture in Noord. All experiences that are educational and valuable. For everyone.
